Charitable Sector Support Program

NSGC...Helping You Help Your Community

The Nova Scotia Gaming Corporation (NSGC) is committed to helping Nova Scotian communities and the charitable sector. During the summer of 2006 NSGC consulted with charities from across Nova Scotia to find out what kinds of programs would be helpful to their organizations. As a result of these discussions, NSGC developed a Charitable Sector Support Program which includes the following:

Community Casino Nights
NSGC provide charities organizing licensed Monte Carlo fundraisers with volunteers and resources from NSGC and Casino Nova Scotia. Charities raise money for their good works by charging guests a flat fee at the door for "play money" which can be used to play various casino-style games such as black jack. Traditionally, the players use their play money at the end of the night to bid on various donated prizes. Community Casino Nights offer charities a fun way to raise money for their important cause.

Community Fundraising Seminars
Organized and hosted by NSGC, the Community Fundraising Seminars connect experts and charities together for the mutual growth and benefit of the charitable sector. The seminars allow for a broad exchange of ideas among a large group of participants; increasing participants' knowledge and network.

Support and Sponsorships
NSGC supports good causes with a strong connection to prevention, such as the Marguerite Centre & Crosbie House Society which are dedicated to helping individuals recover from addictions and abuse.

Additionally, NSGC and its operators give generously to community and charitable events throughout Nova Scotia; providing leadership, infrastructure, financial and volunteer support to assist a wide range of community events.
