Youth

Statistics show that in Nova Scotia, young adults 19-24 are participating in gambling in significant numbers. And have the highest risk of developing gambling problems: almost twice the risk of 25-34 year olds.

NSGC has taken up the challenge, tackling this issue head-on. We're sponsoring programs that talk to young Nova Scotians and teach them about the risks of gambling, with the ultimate goal of preventing the next generation of problem gamblers.

Since 2006, we sponsored the following prevention programs, targeting youth from a variety of ages:
