Marie Mullally, FCA, MBA, is President and CEO of the Nova Scotia Gaming Corporation (NSGC), a Provincial Crown corporation mandated to lead the gambling industry in Nova Scotia. In this executive role, Ms. Mullally, provides strategic and operational leadership within a complex and diverse business environment. Under Ms. Mullally's leadership, NSGC has seen success on many fronts, providing more than $2 billion to the Nova Scotia government for programs and services, and becoming a recognized world leader in responsible gambling programming, pioneering more than half a dozen "world-firsts."
Prior to joining NSGC, Ms. Mullally held several senior positions within Nova Scotia's public sector, including the Registrar of Motor Vehicles and the creator of the Access Nova Scotia service delivery model located across the Province. In that position, she led the development of Access Nova Scotia Centres, which are focused on improving service delivery for both individual and business customers.
Ms. Mullally has been a member of a number of private, not-for-profit and public sector boards, including the Maritime Provinces Higher Education Commission, the Canadian Council of Motor Transport Administrators, DownEast Communications Ltd, Dalhousie University's Board of Governors, the Government's Executive Development Advisory Committee, Atlantic Lottery Corporation and the Responsible Gambling Council of Canada.
Ms. Mullally obtained her Masters of Business Administration degree from Dalhousie University and ranked first in the graduating class of 1995. She was a lecturer in the Bachelor of Commerce program at Saint Mary's University for 15 years and recently completed the Director's Education Program, which is part of the Corporate Governance College delivered by the Institute of Corporate Directors and the University of Toronto.
Ms. Mullally has been described as a negotiator, relationship-builder, visionary and community leader. In 2007, she was honoured with a Fellow Chartered Accountants designation from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nova Scotia and in 2008, was named CA of the year. She has also been named one of Atlantic Canada's Top 50 CEO's, among the region's most well-respected and successful corporate executives. She also added to her community involvement portfolio by joining the board of directors for the Queen Elizabeth II Health Sciences Centre Foundation, an organization dedicated to enhancing the quality of health care in the community.
