NSGC Seeks Innovative Guest Speakers for 2007 Conference

Monday, January 15, 2007

Have an idea for the next hot topic in responsible gambling? Know how to inspire and generate ideas among a group? Looking to help solve an industry-wide challenge? If so, the Nova Scotia Gaming Corporation (NSGC) wants to hear from you! In preparation for the 2007 Responsible Gambling Conference, NSGC is seeking proposals for innovative presentation topics and conference sessions.

Being held October 1st to 2nd in Halifax, Nova Scotia, NSGC is working to make the two-day event unlike any other in North America. Focusing entirely on responsible gambling and social responsibility within the gaming industry, the 2007 Conference will be revised from previous years and will follow a more interactive and discussion-based format. The content will be broken into two streams: one that is industry-based and focused on responsible gambling and another that addresses community interests, such as research, education and prevention. The overall goal will be to solve common challenges faced by both industry and community participants.

If being part of this unique event intrigues you, please submit a proposal pitching your idea for a conference session that will break the mould. In 200 words or less, tell us how you’ll generate interactivity, discussion and brainstorming, what new and relevant information you’ll present, and what issue or challenge your session will address.

Please also forward this request along to a colleague or friend who you think may be a great addition to the Conference! Please email submissions to Margaret McGee, Vice-President, Prevention Programming & Public Affairs, at mmcgee@nsgc.ca. Deadline for submissions is February 15, 2007.
