Internet Blocking Software

How Does it Work?
The BetStopper technology and support services are provided and managed by Advanced Internet Management (AIM), a company that develops advanced software and hardware products for Internet filtering, spam filtering, virus protection, firewalls and more.

Whenever a user attempts to visit a website, whether by clicking a link on another page, typing a URL (also called a web address) into the Address bar, or simply opening their Internet browser to the homepage, the BetStopper content filter is called into action. Before any site can be accessed, its URL is sent to the AIM servers for examination. The server quickly analyzes the request to visit a specific site, as well as the individual userís profile (and whether the gambling content filter is enabled or disabled). If the user is at a search engine, the AIM servers will check to ensure that the search phrase meets the filtering criteria.

If the page the user is attempting to view falls into the category of content that is being blocked, the webpage will not appear and users will see a message telling them the site they are trying to access has been blocked. If it does not, the webpage the user has requested to view will load.

This whole process usually takes place in less than a second.
