Internet Blocking Software

Using BetStopper
After installing BetStopper on their home computer(s), parents/caregivers have the ability to create up to five user accounts, each with their own user name, password and blocking preferences. This means that accounts for children under the age of 18 can have the gambling blocking feature enabled, while accounts for parents, caregivers and other adults in the household can have the blocking feature disabled.

By installing and registering the software, the parent or caregiver becomes the "administrator" and will have a unique administrator password that allows them, and only them, to create, delete and edit the user profiles.

BetStopper includes an override function that allows the administrator to temporarily allow a website that the software has determined should be blocked, as well as submit a website address directly to the software provider for review, if they think the site should be permanently allowed or blocked.

The software blocks online gambling content only and does not have the capability to block other websites that may be deemed inappropriate. As a result of this narrow focus, it is a unique product that has an improved capability to work effectively. In fact, testing has revealed that BetStopper is 94 to 99 per cent effective at blocking gambling websites, while existing products are only 56 to 79 per cent effective at blocking gambling sites.
