Best-practice methods such as reducing accessibility through the removal of 1,000 video lottery terminals and opening Responsible Gambling Resource Centres in both casinos... And cutting edge research, like the Responsible Gaming Device project, that helps us make informed decisions that are in the best interest of our Province.

We're constantly looking for new ways to foster an economically sustainable, responsible, and entertaining gambling industry. It's a critical part of our commitment to improving the lives of Nova Scotians. With initiatives such as Support4Sport, a suite of gaming products that directs 100% of profits to strengthening sport programs throughout Nova Scotia; a commitment to responsibly grow aspects of the gambling business such as online ticket lottery and the charitable gaming sector; and the sponsorship of more than a dozen responsible gambling education and prevention programs, NSGC is actively moving forward and working to build an industry that Nova Scotians can be proud of.

It's our job to generate revenue that will benefit everyone, right across the province. Every dollar of profit that is made from regulated, responsible gambling goes directly back into programs and services that improve your quality of life. Healthcare, roads, schools, cultural industries – last year these sectors enjoyed a $141.6 million injection of funding thanks to the gaming industry. The Nova Scotia Gaming Corporation supports the economy in other ways as well – employing approximately 650 people and last year paying out $39.8 million in commissions to 1,442 retail establishments.
